Solution:

Here, `Q=500 lps=0.5 m^3/s`

We have from Mannings formula,

`Q=A**1/n R^(2/3) S^(1/2)`

or, `0.5=1/0.015**1/2**pid^2/4**(d/4)^(2/3)**(1/1000)^(1/2)`

or, `d=1.17\ m`
